Daniel Butterfield is an undergraduate in BYU’s department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He’s majoring in Computer Engineering with a minor in Computer Science. He joined the FROST Lab in April of 2021, where he is helping build a large Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) in addition to other mini AUVs. Before joining the FROST Lab, he was a member of the BYU Mechatronics club where he helped to design, 3D print, and wire a controller, and in high school he participated in the First FTC Robotics Competition for four years.

In addition to his research, Daniel is interested in a variety of academic disciplines, including audio engineering, video production, vocal performance, and web development. Outside of academia, he also likes broadway, board games, and speedrunning.
